Obituary

Shirley Bobis nee’ Ominsky, 84, May 23, 2022; beloved wife of Arthur for 64 wonderful years; loving mother of Lori (Todd Jay) Schwartz, Lisa Lowenthal, and the late Marc; cherished grandma of Max, Sophie and Jack Schwartz and Sarah and Nathaniel Lowenthal; dear sister of Albert (the late Elaine, Paula Dresnin) Ominsky and the late Anita Baker; loving aunt and friend to all who knew her. Shirley was a dedicated teacher in Northbrook District 27, 28 and 30 for over 25 years, an avid tennis player and a dedicated cheerleader at all her children and grandchildren’s sports events. She never missed one of Lisa’s tennis matches, Lori’s gymnastics or aquianis performances, or Marc’s basketball, softball or track meets. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name to the Susan G. Komen Foundation (www.komen.org/how-to-help/donate) would be greatly appreciated. My sincere condolences for your loss.

Growing up I spent so much time at your house and have the fondest memories of your mom. She was always so welcoming, full of kindness and compassion along with always making me feel like part of your family.

It is an honor to have known Shirley and she will never be forgotten.

May her memories be a blessing and provide comfort and peace as you get through this difficult time.

I will miss the Shirley that I once knew playing tennis and when my husband and I joined Art and Shirley for dinner, She had a marvelous sense of humor and was a delight to play with on the tennis court We had some good times and saw each other in Palm Desert. Not many people I know went from having no grandchildren to welcoming five at one time!!!! I will miss her!
